manual is recommended so you know where you have submitted already or else you'll end up doing multiple submission which result into deletion of your site.

Well it depends if you are trying to get indexed you can automatically submit your site to scuttle/pligg type sites, that's the best way to get your site indexed. And if u have proper and smart enough software, u can go the automated way as well when u are doing further linkbuilding. It's just all about proper tool and the knowledge how to use them, to make your submissions natural.

now, i do not submit anything anymore.

i just post a comment on no-follow website, after a couple of weeks, it's indexed....

create natural links and let the SE index themselves..

let's say, I did comment on same niche top blogs while i read, and leave the URL.. that's it..

Once it took 2 months for me to index one of my sites, vbulletin, but my recent CMS site, just took 3 days to get indexed without any submission except 1 comment each on related blogs.

it works well with all currently search engines..

next step is, try submitting sitemap and authenticate with

google webmaster tools, yahoo site explorer and MSN live webmasters.

trust me and try it.. you will actually feel the difference and won't disappoint you.

I worked at Google and reported spam like mysmo08 puts out to manipulate search engines. Since I have left Google it is still in my responsibility to tell google sites that are complete hogwash - aka they don't provide any real value whatsoever. If you don't know about a subject, and you are not licensed to talk about it, don't try to spam the engines to gain credibiilty as you just make the search engine engineers have to work hard to get rid of your sites that are complete spam.
