Win XP used to be my favourite but you should try Windows 7. It's very good and runs smoothly.

I haven't tried Ubuntu or Windows 7 yet, in general I like to stick with what is working until I 'have' to change it. For example, I had to install a security alarm software to view a recording from a security camera, all computers in the establishment were Vista, the software didn't work with Vista... only XP... the police had to come and do it with their XP laptop. This was not so long back actually... apparently there is a fix to make XP work on a Vista system... but who wants to bother fiddling with that??

I'm really not a fan of Windows.

well, Microsoft has never been able to compete their own build Windows XP. yet, they triied to break its monopoly by eradicating its new coppies in market. windows 7 is the best option available now, it is faster, good graphics, nice video clarities, and nice transitions.

Windows 7 is really really good. I think its the best OS that MS has come up after 98.
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS is my second choice.

BTW I have both system in my PC.

My good and ol' XP, especially you should see my custom trimmed version of it - heck, it takes 75 MB and 6 minutes to install. When you run it, it just blasts everything, never slows and and I forgot what a hang is.
