It is interesting to see the responses here. Many technology media sources indicate that Instagram and Snapchat may be the top runners this year in social media.

Interesting to see so many facebook supporters. I think most research shows teens moving away from facebook, and social media tends to follow where the youngsters go.

I personally chose twitter just because it works better for me in terms of actual results, but I think Snapchat is the next big thing. Will it be #1 in 2014? Probably not, but it will definitely be a powerhouse.

Facebook will continue to dominate, and I imagine it will do so for the next couple of years. I can't see any new network breaking through this year, but I could maybe see Google+ grow in size and activity. I've heard a lot of people are mow emigrating to that.

Google+ will definitely grow due solely to the fact that they now force all youtube comments to go through G+.

Yes its Facebook but I think as Google updates and changing its seems that Google Plus can also compete with Facebook. Lets see the result..

You also have to consider the market. If you go to China, for example, almost no one is using facebook and twitter. They have their own social networking sites that are very popular. That's too big of a market to just ignore.

It's hard to tell, but I would say Facebook will still be the top one unless Google+ present something extraordinary that makes people use it more.

"top" anything will always be subjective, but of course FB will continue to dominate the masses for a while. Twitter is nothing more than FB's status update feature...G+ is hard to use for even some 'tech-savvy' people...Linkedin....not really appealing to the average person for the typical 'social media' experience. Many people hardly use the internet for much more than Facebook and maybe occasional amazon shopping...I don't see it losing relevancy anytime soon. I will say that G+ has been my favorite in terms of what I actually get out of it personally...my personal 'top' would definitely be G+ hands down. Overall though, Facebook will take the cake, eat it, and then sell it to you, and then take it again in 2014, and probably even into 2015.
