For fast ranking, I prefer commenting on blogs

It gives me quick links that fits my site and boost it to SER. This strategy is much needed especially to SEO contests. If you are great in finding blogs with high PR and do-follow, then this will be perfect for you.

 

My suggestion is posting comment on dofollow blogs. That will provide you good link building and increase back links.

I dont think that there is one way to get good SEO results. A linking campaign should be build on a number of linking strategies. Some good strategies are
1. Article directories
2. Free general directories
3. Niche directories
4. Guest blog appearances on authority blogs
5. Posting on blogs and forums
6. People naturally linking to your content

 

I agree with Shout, it's best to have variety in the type of incoming links.

IMO Articles is the best way. It will give you the stable 1 way link with lots of traffic.

 

directory submission, blog and forum posting, article writing and press release all are good but I think high quality article writing and submission is the best method to generate good quality links and also traffic.

 

For building process and get loads of traffic then you have to use forums, directories and social bookmarking. They are consider an effective purpose.
