    It depends on the website.

    In most cases why websites are only a few pages so I use a basic templating system and all the other subpage are normal HTML files that call the headers and footers.

    In very few occasions where my clients need a site with over 15 pages I tend to use a CMS such as Radaint. Wordpress is also a good solution if your site requires a blog and Mephisto is cool too!

    coding by hand is good.. because it will improve your skills as you go through it.. not like using others.. your not improving and you will be stuck on what you already have or what you have gotten from that CMS
