A 'misunderstanding' would = you were incorrect and it was not 'insulting' a normal person when seeing they were wrong would apologize. Or one with class at least.
Military wise Israel should be stronger than Iran, far strongly especially if you are fighting a conventional warfare. But I doubt Iran will fight only a conventional war, guerilla attacks, firing of missiles would be the main features in any Israel/Iran conflict. Iran will also most likely blockade the Strait of Homuz dragging USA directly into the conflict. By then oil prices of $200/barrel will not be an impossibility.
Israel of course would be stronger, Iran would have a few advantages but doubt they would matter much. One being their overall size difference 'as in' it's harder to hit targets in a big area with lots of hiding spots over hitting items in a condensed area.
That's what Israel's precision missiles and superior air force are for. Israeli air force is rumored to be the best in the world. They did showed their mettle in the various conflicts.

Iran may (a big may) have a functional nuclear weapon, but I don't think they can delivery their big present to Israel as a surprise. If I were to bet I would say Israel's present will arrive far ahead of Iran and Israel can be more generous given what they had in their arsenal.
WHAT?!?! almost everyday the israely news start with " The UN spoke to Olmert" (about bad things).. the UN always support Lebanon or Other countries if The US \ France not helping us at the moment. The israely goverment is very effected by this. you can't say other, because you don'y live in Israel and the American news not always show all the story. (I watch Larry King and CNN daily)
(...Good thought provoking question) Who is more powerful, or who is more threatening to us is the real question. Israel have the support of the USA still, with huge amounts of $$$ still funding there military. Iran though are of course far more dangerous, and could do something no body was expecting, therfore because of the inpredictability of IRAN you could argue they have more POWER.
