    dreamweaver works better
To edit a site you can see the dreamweaver>help>using dreamweaver help>contents>Site Management and collaboration>Getting files from a remote site

It would very much depend on what site you are creating.

They are two completely different things.

Joomla is a content management system, dreamweaver is an editor, whatever you build in dreamweaver (if you know how to use it) you will have to upload to a server.

If you're looking to build a rather large site, then I would suggest going with a content management system (CMS). I personally like Drupal, I feel it's a little bit easier than Joomla, but that's just my opinion.

Dreamweaver is a great program to use when you're building sites, regardless of whether or not you're using a CMS. Inevitably, there will be a time when you need to actually deal with HTML code, and that's where Dreamweaver comes in handy. Type what you want, and just copy and paste the code.

You may also use Wordpress as CMS which you can find very simple.

You should not compare the apple to the pear. Joomla is a content management framework, which means that creating new pages and modules does not require too much knowledge. All you need to learn is the logic of the Joomla admin, which is quite a challange imo. DW is a sitebuilder tool which manage diffent server side and client side programming language.

If you are wondering what to learn..I think you should learn dreamweaver and the html, css that goes along with using it. The possibilities are endless.

I agree with Graphic Guru, if you want to learn, go with Dreamweaver.
But if you want just a site so you can manage, use Joomla.
