I've never written any ASP scripts so I cannot give you an opinion on that, but I can tell you from 6 years of writing PHP that it's a very flexible language. It's syntax is very easy to learn and is very similar to Javascript's syntax. I started learning PHP at http://www.tizag.com/phpT/ it's a good site that has very clear and concise tutorials. Give it a go you will see what I mean. Glen
PHP, because its open source and it has a big community so you can find a lot of resources when you encounter a problem.
If you're on a Windows server without PHP you have to use ASP. If you're on a Linux box without ASP you have to use PHP. If you're still at the stage at which you can choose which box to be on, whichever one you're more familiar with. I spend about 10 years in a company that used ASP. Now I've been using PHP exclusively for about 9 years. Anything I can do, I can do in either one; it makes no difference which language the code is written in.
According to me PHP and you know why and as well as everyone said PHP is huge so i also suggest you php...
both are equally efficient depending upon your project .Its upto you what fits your requirement the best.Byte the way asp is action server pages which are now extinct and we have a new language instead -Asp.net . Remember both asp and asp.net are completely different /.
PHP has a giant community behind it, actively providing new methods & development tools. This is one of the best indicators of how to go. I don't like either model, really. But that's my personal bias. ASP is doggy, and PHP seems to be the Troglodyte of programming environments. But PHP is by far more widely accessible, with better community support.
Most definitely PHP. It's powerful, free, and by using it your not supporting the monopoly that is Microsoft
Defiently PHP, has a bigger community and you can find answers to any problems that you have. i found it easier to learn as well, I struggled with ASP but that was because I got quite confused with certain areas.
PHP is best. Because -->PHP is Open source. -->Loading fast -->Easy to learn --> lot's of framework available --> you can get almost code script from net. and many more...
