This is my original Cpanel firmware and I like this one... Easy to navigate and user friendly... This one is another Cpanel firmware offered by another hosting company and I don't like it... Really annoying and I lost my files several times.. LOL.. Tell me which one do you prefer to use if you have any experience in both of them...
I'm used to the first (theme 'x') - and prefer it, but the 2nd has more functionality (try dragging the boxes around ), which is the x3 theme. Just ask your host to change your theme to 'x' and you'll get the first one again Jay
Most certainly do prefer the first one. It is very clear and the layout is easy to navigate around. But then again perhaps it is because it is the one I am use to. Like everything, it takes awhile to get use to something new.
The 2nd one obviously. It's the latest version, which you must take into consideration since the other version is exploitable to many valid vulnerabilities. Version 11 is fairly stable, and they've given you more options to work with. Since your host is upgraded to the latest version of cPanel, it's likely that they care about their users more and are willing to deliver real support because they install it for you and keep up with the latest trends in technology and security.
The second one has more functionality if you take a look but most of those functions are already available in the first one... The problem with the second one is, I have problem in editing and viewing my pages..
Well, the REAL problem here is security. If you don't care about how insecure you are, then I guess you could go for the first one.
There are valid exploits out version 10. Such include file inclusions, local root exploit, php/sql by pass. Also, XSS is valid by tricking users into entering login details and then further gaining access.
Yeah, that's what updates are for. They patch the insecurities typically. It's rarely seen where one single developer will spend hours auditing code to secure it on an OLD platform, when you can just update and install a fresh stable version.
I much prefer the second one purely for functionality. For example, the file manager in cPanel 11 is far superior to that in 10 (your first screenshot).
Security problems aside, the second seems far better to me. It groups the categories and allows you to move them around and collapse them. If you don't like how it is laid out you can always change it. Far better in my opinion.
X3 here, plus if your hostin gprovider still on cpanel 10, they should upgrade to cpanel 11 since some of the security holes are covered in version 11.
Well, I am starting to educate myself... I have it already after my host updated their server firmware..
