    Facebook is much more popular than Orkut at the moment. If Facebook was a country it would be the 3 most populated country in the world. Can you see how popular it is.

    I have friends in different parts of the world. Orkut is well known in South America and Facebook is more known in North America and Europe. You have to consider your target audience and business strategy and decide with one is better than the other.
