I have a fairly popular urban gossip blog with good traffic. I want to take it to the next level an make a more national splash! We have a few thousand to play with so I want to ask you guys which one would you think would be more effective in bringing in more people.

Option 1: Advertise on a popular radio station site or a popular competitor site(who would actually allow us to do that)

Option 2: Advertise on a popular artist site (that brings in the most daily traffic) i.e. beyonce or 50 cent etc....

Option 3: Advertise on a news paper site (PAGE SIX)

Option 4: Hire PR Firm to promote

    Option 5: SEO/google marketing

Option 6: Message board ad marketing

Please give me your opinions and advice by dropping a PM please. If you idea work or you think you can help...finanical incentive could be applied!

Unless there's something particularly newsworthy that completely sets you apart from other gossip sites, I don't think a PR firm is going to be able to do much for you... besides, PR is about public image - you'll have a hard time finding a reputable PR firm to try to manage the image of a gossip site. ;)

I'd say go with advertising. I don't know how well SEO would work with news-oriented sites compared to that, with things quickly outdated (not that you should neglect it... I just think ads are going to give you the most for your money in this particular case - but I'd advertise online; not in print or radio).
