i need help deciding which way is better?

I have the potential for a smasher of a blog, basically im a graphic designer and i started one shitty little blog (for photoshop tutorials) following the craze, didnt think it would go anyware, posted one quick tutorial on how to make a stylish logo for the novice photoshop user and submitted it to tutorialized.com, that was a month ago, and i just logged on to see it, becuase i just had thoughts on whether to upload my portfolio on the blog, like to make one whole site about me and my services. I found 5 comments on the tutorial, and that was my first ever blog/blog post.

so i think i wanna go ahead a right more tutorials and blog more, and i could do well.

only thing is i need help deciding which way is better, using a blog hosted by wordpress or the one that my server adminstrator installed for me on my paid host??

which ones do you lot use??

if u wanna make money from start itself..from your new blog...then get your own host and install wordpress.....b'coz free hosting in wordpress.com would not allow you to give any ads..or commercialize...also u'll not have complete ownerships....but in wordpress.com SEO..is automatically done by them...and u get few traffic and backlinks from them.....

Getting your own host and domain name from the start will alleviate many of the problems you could have in the future. These issues could be from serving the ads you want, to losing PR and other rankings if you decide to switch in the future. Every pro blogger out there that I've read recommends that you get your own domain and host from the start.

Use WP on your own server. You can tweak it as much as you like

Self Hosted gives you several advanatges and enables you to maximize the capabilities of WP.

However, if you're going to have a blog just for fun hosted by wordpress is enough. For professional, you definitely have to host it your self getting your own paid host etc.

Also keep in mind that you can't customize your CSS or upload your own theme if your blog is hosted by wordpress.com unless you pay, so I'd choose a self-hosted WP.

thanks for all the help guys, i just made room on my old domain/server name and installed wordpress there, iv been uploading all my portfolio/work on it for the past 3 hours, and i keep thinking what a great idea this is, than just spend unsatisfying amount of days creating a website. Becuase i can just change the look of it any time.

Anyway again thanks everyone, so I went with the self-host, mostly becuase my domain name is 3 years old and its a PR3 so yeah its much better like this

    check it out at http://www.swaymedia.com

    thanks!!
