I've been running a website for a while, which now has many backlinks but doesn't rank very well for several keywords that I want to rank highly on. There are so many sub-sections that my homepage isn't targeted to any certain keyword. This website has been registered since 2003, and has about 50 sub-sections, and I'm hoping to get to #1 for each of these sub-section keywords. Most of the competition have backlinks from about 10-20 sites at most, so I can beat the competition easily once I start investing money in backlinks. Now where would my money be best spent to help rank for these 50'ish keywords: - Links to the site's homepage so the homepage is #1 for each keyword - Links to site.com/keyword-X.html and try to get each sub-section ranking high for it's own keyword - I've also started a bunch of new sites (www.keyword-1.com, www.keyword-2.com, etc.), would it be better to focus on these new sites with the keywords in the domain names, or focus on the aged domain which already has many backlinks and a higher PR than the new domains?
I feel it is better to get separate domains, I had made the same mistake earlier . Crawling becomes a problem at times.
IMO, I think you should focus on your old site... In terms of keyword rankings, it would be better to focus on your site's index first... If it worked out good in rankings, then you can work out with it's sub-pages.. About your bunch of new sites, I think it can be of a support to your main site... Good luck with that...
