Which of these images is better?

Which of these images is better?

    Attached are 2 files "arrow3" and "arrow4"
Each has 3 sets of arrow shapes in it.

The effect I am going for is:
Left arrow: rising from ground up
    Middle arrow: falling from sky
Right arrow: simple shadow, like photoshop

    In first image, arrow3,
    the shadows are bit noisy,
    and in second image, arrow4,
    the shadows are much smoother.

    My question:
Which of these arrows is better suited for a web logo etc

    Thanks

How did the logo come out? Did the arrow shadowing look good?

I find both a bit blurry and undersized, and lacking in general detail. Neither seems a proper blur or shadow, nor would they work well once dynamic scaling is applied.

Remember, design to at least double the intended resolution for deployment. Also since it's monochrome the filesizes you have so far are utterly absurd, even for alpha transparency.

Honestly, I'd say either kick the drop shadow to the curb, or make it uniform and far lighter in colour, perhaps a uniform color.

    Thanks @deathshadow
I changed many things since I started this thread. Below is how new images would look like with different types of shadows.
    All made using this:
    https://vmapp.org/imageMake/logo.php

Basic arrow shape used, then added 2 colors to it, red and blue (ticked vertical gradient option), then used different shadow types for all 4 layers.

Ask yourself if you actually need a figurative logo for what you want to achieve. We're so drowned in symbols nowadays few people actually have time to remember them all. Forget the colors, the shadows, the shapes and focus on the message ;)

I prefer the second option of editing the image.

I prefer the 1st one as it is far more dramatic and catches the eye more than the 2nd. Advertising is about getting your target market to notice you.

It took four layers to pull that off?
Anyway I agree with CastroS about the second on the editing image. But if you really want it to pop you need a thin black outline on the arrow and more distance between the arrow and the shadow. Play with different distances, angles and fades on the shadow, you can even apply multiple shadows. I seem to be getting a bit carried away, so I'll stop now. Just experiment, you might find something that really blows your mind!
