Which niche is better?

Well -- I'm having a hard time deciding between 2 niches.

I have enough money in paypal at the moment for 1 new project; and niche marketing is my favorite. Based on my own personal research and own knowledge, I've narrowed it down to learning acoustic guitar by ear and internet marketing.

I understand that theres probably not one thats better than the other because it honestly depends on how I develop it; but ASSUMING that I have great traffic, SEO, and content... which one do you guys think is better at the moment? I want personal opinions.

My personal thoughts are that since internet marketing is so big right now, that I would have great results with all the newbies that are exploring google and other websites looking for resources. On the other hand, learning acoustic guitar by ear, while not as popular, would probably be an easier niche for me to develop if I'm going for simple; seeing as I'm a guitar teacher myself.

As stated above, personal opinions please!

    Regards

Well it seems like the guitar one would be more of a relaxed endeavor in comparison to internet marketing, which sounds more like a race. So I guess the question you really have to ask yourself is, "How fast do I want to go?"

I'm willing to put in as much effort as required - internet marketing and guitar are 2 of my favorite things, so they will both be enjoyable.

Wow, complete ends of the spectrum. Go with the guitar by ear, SEO seems a little more realistic.

You'll probably have more success with the guitar niche. (Though I question the size of the demand there)

Everybody with a PC claims to be an "internet marketing" expert these days. Too much clutter there.

    Good luck!

I understand that modern internet marketing is cluttered, but this is where optimizing your keywords and advertising strategies comes into play. I don't have to get 800,000 UVs every day to be successful, a few thousand is fine with me. If I can get to a point to where I'm selling say 5 books a day for $9.99 each, thats $50 a day. Five is even a low number, considering within a few months I can be generating at least a few thousand uniques every day... 4 to 5 people are bound to purchase a book every day or two. Thats $350 a week, which isn't too shabby for an amateur marketer that still has a ton of room to expand.

Those are just my thoughts, however. I'll end up running both campaigns in the long run, I just need to figure out which one to do first.

Now that I read it again, your entire question needs clarification. Are these "internet marketing" books or are you defining selling books as an internet marketing business? Are you selling guitar books as well or are you pursuing an adsense model?

I suppose it doen't really matter as my original comments still apply. I pointed out the "clutter" issue because you will see much higher marketing costs in that type of niche. A $9.99 price point may not support more expensive traffic.

    Good luck!
