By the way, someone told me he thinks none of these names are good because they are too simple and not catchy. What do you guys think? He suggested that I use a nonsense name to brand it, like Yomba, Skazzy, or something like that. I personally don't like this kind of name, but I know it doesn't matter what I think, but what the target market thinks. So I thought to ask for your opinions about this. So what do YOU think?
It may be so, but the membership site is going to be about "list building" techniques, not web marketing in general. So I think a more specialized name will work better. What do you think?
Specialized is always better. What non-buyers think is totally irrelevant in this regard. "list building" means nothing to people UNLESS they actively got interested in the subject. For them it means everything, and since it's them that will most likely order, it's the group you should talk to. I think with "list" in the name you get more serious clients, as everyone (?) knows, at least the people that are interested enough to listen, that the real money is in the list, and not in Google. Besides, I think you're right on time, this niche will see a great comeback this year, as we all get a bit tired with search engines and their hickups. Let's roll it out!
I like Ultimate List Profits. And I'm surprised it's not registered already. So I must be wrong. I don't like List Profit Club, which is good because it's already registered. But not being used at this point. So I hope you are the one that registered. I don't like club because it is overused, same as million in any form. If you are talking about list building for the membership then I would expect help building lists and possibly some lists that I could use. I assume you have done some research as this is a very crowded field.
No, I don't think you are wrong. Actually Ultimate List Profits was the name I liked the most before asking for people's opinions in DP. I still like it but since I saw everyone said "ultimate" sounded like hype for them, I decided to go with another name. Yes, I registered it yesterday. Yes, I've been in the list building and newsletter publishing business for 4 years and know quite a lot about the techniques AND the market.
I think that the word 'club' implies a smallish group of people who have the same interests or goals. I like it better than 'forum' because that sounds much bigger and less exclusive. You can use a nonsense name, but you better have the money or skills to promote it enough so that people will associate it with what you do.
Besides collecting opinions is fun. I like anything with list better, email marketing is too general for me. But, hey, that is just my opinion. No market research to back it up. gene
Easy List Profits I think the names with the word millionaire makes it sound like a hype IMO. So.. the shorter, simpler titles would work best (they're also easier to remember)
