I am going to buy a new desktop based on intel core 2 duo E4500 processor
Now I am confused about what motherboard to buy intel 945GCNL, or intel DG31PR, or intel DG33FB.

Should i go with core 2 duo E4500(2.2 ghz) or E4600 (2.4ghz) or any other?
Again wht ram frequency is bttr 667MHZ or 800 MHZ

Note intel 945GCNL supports 667mhz ram only.

Post if you have any other suggestions.

I am going to buy it tomorrow, so post asap.

Can't give you a direct answer. This process always works well for me.

Once you settle on a cpu, go to intel site and look up what chipset and memory it needs.

Then find a board that supports both of those. Double check the process by making sure the board makers says the board supports the processor and memory.

IMO DG31PR or DG33FB is better because it has support for latest quad processors also.
DG31PR has support for max 4gb of ram, DG33FB can support maximum 8GB of ram, where as 945GCNL can support maximum of 2gb of ram. keep this points in mind for future upgradability.

667 mhz should be fine for desktop pcs, 800 mhz is used mainly for servers, it would be more faster.
there is not big price diff between 800 & 600 mhz, so if your mb has support for 800 go with it.

    well dude
if u want a better mobo get urself
ABit IP35-E , dont go with intel original( if u intend to do overclocking & if u want a better performance)
about RAM go with kingston 800Mhz 2*1GB , that would be a better choice for u
