I got a 17" LCD so I will recommend LCD. Used TFT for about 1 and half year and I don't think it's really good :) It takes hell lots of space lol. So you probably will have a brand in mind for monitor right? Mine is View Sonic's though.

LCD the picture is much nicer on this type of monitor it is the one that I am using and suggest getting it 100%. You just want to make sure the monitor is also of the correct size you would like.

I prefer LCD...but in choosing, why don't you look at reviews, the contrast ratio, options (does it have a USB hub on it?), etc, before choosing. you pay for what you get...imo.

i think you have used CRT(cathod ray tube) monitors, as those take a lot of space, and damages the eyes!

TFT is nice, and LCD is cool,
these days we get TFT LCD screens!:)

You are right about damaging the eyes.Mine are terrible.Pains etc.Thats the only reason I'm changing.I have been looking at the same CRT for 4 years.

I am going to have a look in person today to see which gives the best picture etc.

    I will report back.
Thanks for all the input guys.I really appreciate it.
