I was just wondering what gave you the best results... I just got into the Amazon Affiliate Program and saw there are many options you can use to promote the products. My question is which one of these methods gave you sales: 1. Widgets.. Just adding widgets to your web page in the place of pictures? 2. Plain Text Links.. Links that are embedded into the actually content of the web page? 2. Image & Text.. Image & Text on either the left or right side of the web page? Also any other tips that you suggest I do to help me get my first sale =) Thank you!!
Hey, Don't even think of using widgets or banners. They're a fail, people will go to Amazon main site themselves if they want to, they're on your site for specific products. Plain text links - I use them on top of my review when quickly describing the product. At the end of review, I use Image & Text, so basically I have 2 Amazon links in each review. Image & Text are the best - people see its Amazon right away!
Nice Tarum thank you, so have you gotten sales from your method? I've been getting clicks but not sales, someone who reviewed my site told me it was a bit "salesy" could that be one of the problems you think?
How many clicks do you get??? I think your problem is the conversion rate. Did you write a review page for your products??
^^I've had just 11 clicks so far I just set it up a few days ago. Maybe its too early to tell you think? I tried to get my site reviewed but no comments so far...
oh no sorry that's a different one. The site is (www)funweightlosshelp.com yeah if you can check it out and see what's wrong with it. That would be great Tarum
For me, writing reviews and putting in plain text links is getting the most sales. Reviews simply work the best.
I've been thinking about doing reviews like a "top 10" kind of thing. I don't really have to money to buy all the products I'm trying to promote. So any suggestions how how I can do a review of each product without actually buying the products?
There is one nasty way but I'd never do it. Thankfully I can rent the equipment or get it for free. Browse for all the good reviews online of a product then somehow merge it in your own way of writing. Can take some time, but is probably rewarding. You take a little bit from every site. I have never done it, and never will. However, it is a good way! The Top 10 thing is awesome, especially before Christmas.
Most success I have with plain text links (call to action like) with combination of widget called "Carousel Widget".
I also vote for "Plain Text Links" & "Images With Text". If amazon widgets have no logo then they're good, but they have.
What do you mean by "Call to action like" or what I'm is what's an example of a call to action link that sales for you?
I like to use text/image in the upper left hand corner than I fill out the rest of my review or article with plain text link. I always end with a very strong call to action and make sure the last thing they see is a simple text link taking them to Amazon.
I'm using widgets in my new comic review website... and text links, of course. But I do think those widgets look good for this type of content. http://1foe.com/the-walking-man/ If I was a casual browser looking for book recommendations, I'd totally flick those widgets around! Wouldn't you?
Hi Markyv2 Sorry to say, my honest opinion about your website is it don't entice me to go on to read your contents much because the layout itself has alot of improvement to be done. Some pages look abit distorted and overlapped with others (I'm using google chrome). I think site layout is also really important for review sites, and also of course the sale pitch must be at a minimal as well. Cheers
