In quiet period, it could help to do some marketing for one's directory. Some people use a 3rd party email platform like constant contact to send mass email to previous customer offering a reduction in submission fee, other just put a note at the directory submission confirmation page. Which promotion method works best for you when you are trying to stimulate sale in your directory.
Thanks for your inpute, yes, that works for me too, especially when the customer is looking for more quality directories too add their site, after submission confirmation I usually geta few more submission in my other directories from the same customer.
My niche is for a small area in NYC. The businesses are all close together so I have a "walker" who distributes mailers/coupons to this businesses.
Thanks for a good reminder that real world/physical/face-to-face advertising is a great option for directory owners too.
Periodic contact to send mass email to previous customer offering a reduction in submission fee worth IMO instead of contact contact. DON.
