Which logo looks better? I hired a firm to help out giving me more of a corporate look for branding.

The first one looks perfect!

 

I'm with you on this, although I find in terms of size that the 2nd one is better.

 

The second one is modern so I prefer it from the first which has the classic look.

 

First one without a doubt

 

if you wana use it for auto etc then you must use 2nd one.

 

Agreed, first one has nothing to do with auto.

 

Hi ginostylz! I usually don't like to say yay or nay but briefly say what the logo looks like and let the person come to their own conclusion if my perspective is accurate, inaccurate, good or bad.

To be honest, the first logo reminds me of a law firm logo, a health insurance company logo, or even a post office logo - The second one looks like a race car company logo, or car insurance logo. I have no idea what your company is but that's what they look like from my perspective.

I absolutely cannot go without telling you that the second logo would look light-years better WITHOUT that chrome-looking oval around the logo. It reminds me of a mid '90s Angelfire free page banner. I'd like to think the internet has come a lot further than that =]

Anyway, that's just my two cents and I hope it helps even just a little bit!

 

I definatly prefer the second one as i feel it relates to its subject more directly than the first.

I also think maybe the second one with the metalic ring taken off as i feel this pulls away from the design and kind of makes it look a little cheap.

But in terms of practicallity and use in media the second sits in front as i believe it could be used in a broader range of media at a cheaper cost and has more of a visual trigger that people can relate to.

Thanks for looking. We make touch up paint for cars. The first logo was a spin on an old Packard or Rolls Royce, but if you didn't get that it might not have done its job. It was also compared to the old mobil oil pegasus logo. People like it because it is more memorable and stands out, but at the expense of being too retro. The second was a spin on a modern car logo like the ford oval, or the BMW circle. People like this one because it looks a little more modern and has a car on it, but at the expense of being too forgettable.

Right now my business uses the second one (oval with car in it), and I hired a firm to help redesign some product labels, and they think the current logo isn't that good from a branding perspective.

 

Chrome looks classy but the wings are simple yet elegant, I would go with the chrome one for a good wow factor.

I gotta say I like both of em. The Chrome one seems a bit more 'car-like', but the first one is an awesome design. You can't go wrong with both.

I voted first, but honestly think you may want to shop around if your not crazy about your logo.
