Image link Vs. txt link Is it true that web crawlers can now follow image links? I read that they could and therefore set up my site with only image links... but it's been 2+ weeks and only my main page has been indexed. Also should image links with good alt tags in theory be just as SEO effective as text links? thanks.
Totally sure : text link is much better than any other alternative If you have image linking, try adding a footer with text-linking alternatives of your links and it will be better
Definitely text link is much better. Also it's very important the link text itself. Ideally this text should contain the keyword your site is optimised for.
Text link is the most effective than images because it will give your it will rank your site using text link.
To me, they're equal. Use the alt attribute and they anchor text will be picked up. But if you're not trying to hide the link just use a text link.
Image links if formatted well utilizing accessibility attributes like the alt attribute and proper tagging, it will also help.
text link are easily crawlable and best to get indexed. but if you are using image links always put an alt tag. as it get indexed and helps in faster indexing cheers
I'll go for text links. Text links are important both in terms of getting quality backlinks and good SERPs. However, image links are also very important in terms of branding and advertising if you are running an ad campaign for the site in order to do internet marketing and business promotion. Image links are fine as long as you put it the ALT text.
Text links are better than image links and this is even acknowledged by the great search giant Google and advises webmasters to avoid too many images in their pages. If you are very particular about images, link them with proper alt tag. This works well from the seo point of view
