    hi all,
i am using 4images(image gallery script) for one of my site, the link we have by default on script for images is like this

    http://www.website.com/details.php?image_id=8

there are 2 SEO mods available for this script on their support forum

one change the link to this after applying the mod

    http://www.website.com/img8.htm (
    [ site / imageNumber.htm ]

and the other change it to this

    http://www.website.com/r-celebrities-&-models-10-elisha_cuthbert-55-Elisha_Cuthbert_8.htm
    [ site / category - sub cateogry - image name.htm ]

just wondering which mod is better searchable by search engine crawlers, al i am asking is that please suggest me one of the mod, that i should use it on my site.

(please dont suggest me other scripts with best SEF links, for the time being want to stick with 4images)

    Thanks in advance

Assuming that the file name part of the latter option is related to the content of the image, then the second options is the one to go with.

Keep in mind that images aren't indexable in and of themselves — the alt attribute of the image tag is what the search engines look to.

    Does that help?

Hmmm... he's right. I noticed that keywords in file name, directory and domain helps boost ranking

Keywords in the url probably give you a very small boost, but if all of your urls are formatted site > category > sub category ... the keywords are going to be spread across a lot of different urls, and really not much help to a search engine in figuring out what the page is about ... so probably they won't be used for ranking purposes.
