Which layout do you think is better ?

Which layout do you prefer ?

(not so different, but i've changed font, some colors and other little things)

Personally, I like the first one better as it has more colors.

 

Old one. More colours. Give's it more character.

Aside from removing the background color and adding blogroll and an ad what has changed?

Like lethal7 said, your site would benefit from better organization. You need some type of header to introduce what the site is and break it up a bit. I feel that with the logo just stuck up there in the middle of a bunch of adwords does not encourage people to want to use your site. Looks sloppy and like your just desperate for some income.

 

I like the second

 

The second one seems dull so I'll go for the first layout.

I think I see why in #2 you've made the sidebar stuff smaller font... it seems to get in the way of the article.

Maybe instead of a sidebar, you want it to either sit at the top (under the name) and have the article itself take up the rest of the width (so it gets the full attention it deserves).

You could turn that sidebar stuff into a regular drop-down menu, actually. Then the other random things like calendars can just sit in a header.

What I like about #1 is the little shadow on the white part around the edge, and the dark blue in the background. I normally love gradients, but I didn't like yours : )

I like the set-up of the article itself, with the images being clear and large. Definitely the fact that the article needs to sit on the left-hand side is stifling it.

 

I prefer the feel of the first one...

The second one is a little more visually appealing to me because of the faded background. You should make that background fixed.

I like the second one although I couldn't identify much differences. Font changes must workout in your favor. Good luck.
