Hi Guys, I need a laptop for CG basically, I will be using for 2d and 3d Maya n some high end Autodesk tools. Please advise an ideal configuration, model no for laptop under 60K. Thanks
Hello Guys, If you are planning to buy a new laptop and you have a sufficient budget then i will suggest for...."acer". Finally choice is yours.
i would suggest you go for atleast 4gb memory ( for good scene buffer ), intel i5 processor ( for good render and speed), and atleast a mid-class nvidia graphics card (for good viewport acceleration in 3d editing) with probably a 14-15 inch screen (for better screen estate) dell gets hot, sony runs smooth, acer is good too, hp is good too, stay away from lesser known brands you can get good bargains here: tradejoker.com
if you have good budget then timeline accer its very fast and it will backup of 7 hours approximately.
You can check with the Dell people, a customer care would help you if you specify the requirements! Dell even lets you customize laptops and hence you can pay more for extra RAM or good Graphics Card! I hope this helps! P.S - I am not marketing any brand/company. I personally had a good experience with Dell when I wanted to buy a laptop!
You can also go with HP or so. Note that there are many programs who have to do with rendering that don't use the graphic card at all(Especially Sony Vegas), so make sure you got a good CPU. If you got enough money, go get a i7 and some medium graphics card. Try to get 4-8gb or RAM, if you got the money . But for rendering, 4gb is a minimum requirment.
Toshiba has always been GREAT for me... I also have heard good things about Acer also...May give that a try in the future.
Here are some suggestions from CNET Laptop Reviews. Watch all the videos to open yourself up to possible choices. Your budget may also be a issue, so price carefully.
You can buy sony vaio e-series which comes with 4 GB Ram and inbuilt 1GB and 512 MB Graphics Card. which will surely help while you are working in Maya. Thanks
Go for toshiba, because you will know what are you paying for and they have by far the best "no matter what" warranty.
Go for a laptop with good amount of RAM and VRAM. Choose Dell, you can customize the configuration of a laptop online...
