I'm prefering macbooks right now (going to get one soon). DO NOT get toshiba.. they have heating problems (google it up it's common..)
gotta go with gateway...had mine for 5 years, still running strong...I have even dropped it and it keeps on going...
I havnt included other options as HP,Sony,Dell,Acer and some Indian Companies are the major players here.
MAcbook Pro can switch to vista IT all depends on what you want in your computer. Mac's are great for graphics
I need good battery life and good performance and it must run smoothly for hours say 6-10 hours a day continuously...
Yeah, that's why I reccommended mac since their battery life is so long! For most laptops I've found, their battery life is only 2 - 3 hours (average) They key is to get a fairy small and light laptop (better battery life that way)
What is the battery life offered by MAC. I agree with NashTax. Now am thinking of Dell. I heard that they offer battery power of 2-3 hours on a 6 cell battery and if we use a 9 cell battery then i could give upto 6 hours. Dont know whether this is right. Somebody correct me.
I prefer Dell out of those choices. However, the Dell laptop I'm on right now is pretty old, and gets REALLY hot, even if you just use it to go on the web.
Exactly. Macbooks are cheap IMO (in price). Ok, the battery life is pretty decent lasting (the 6 hours) according to my friends. Of course after 3 years of use I would replace them Just note that laptop battery life are listed if you use EVERYTHING to the minimum... which is basically impossible
