Which keywords to build site around?

    Let's take a keyword I just made up off the top of my head, "peanuts". Let's say that this keyword has many niche offspring keyword like: "peanut allergies", "benefit of peanuts", "peanut diet", and "peanut weight loss".

    Would it be better to make one giant website about the keyword "peanuts" in general with individual articles targetting the keywords "peanut allergies", "benefit of peanuts", "peanut diet", and "peanut weight loss" or make a whole website dedicated to "peanut allergies".

    It seems to me that making a website totally dedicated to "peanut allergies" would be much easier than trying to target peanuts as a whole.

    I would make one giant website with general keyword peanuts and individual pages related for other keywords in that topic.

    I agree with andriusk, at least with that option you are getting the best of both worlds.

    I keep overanalyzing. I've been analyzing keywords for the last three weeks, and I feel like I really need to get started. I keep questioning the keywords I use.

    Well, if I built a site around the keyword "peanuts", it would be impossible for me to get even remotely high because of all of the competition. Wouldn't it be smarter to make a website dedicated to just "peanut weight loss"(made-up, just so no one actually goes on a peanut diet)?

    First of all, you'll have the advantage of having "peanut weight loss" in the title. Most of the directories and websites that link back to you use your title, right? So, if you have "peanut weight loss" in your title that just adds more anchor text which is better for SEO, right?

    So, let me compare this to making a big website about "peanuts" in general. You'd have mini articles with the keywords I listed in the first post.

    The single pages about the niche peanut keywords won't have as much weight as a single website dedicated to one of the niche peanut keywords, right?

    But, then again, if you target "peanuts" in general, you could target "peanut allergies", "benefit of peanuts", "peanut diet", and "peanut weight loss" in each article. But, they won't have as much weight because there's less anchor text to each keyword.


    Why do I always overanalyze? :( I just want to start and make a page.
