My website vancouvercomputers.info is a portal for computer infomation in a particular region. What keywords should I target, is it better to target "vancouver computer" or "vancouver computers" ? The business that I want to have as advertisers seem to target "computers", but I think that "computer" would bring more surfers. Any ideas on this and keyword optimization in general?
HI there, thanks for the reply. I will check how it goes and report back. How does everyone else pick their keywords?
In these situations I use the plural... The search engines understand that computer and computers are the same.
Vancouver computers sounds like something that would have been taken a long time ago LOL. As long as you have a strong name like that you can just add to the word computers.
Keyword "computers" are too general. Try to use first the less competitive keyword like vancouver computers. If you need a tool to know what keyword have high searches with less compititors, try to use wordtracker.
"Vancouver Computers" is more better as it is less competitive and also highly searched as compared to "Vancouver Computer" You can use keyword suggestion tool or google adword to check out for these keywords.
We have developed an outside the box method of developing keywords that you might find useful. It requires some cash and friends, and time to implement, but it sure beats following the herds to WordTaracker and alike. I am now number 2 in google for "vancouver computers information" and number 1 for "vancouver computers info".
