Are you damn blind Mr./Mrs. "Expert". Where in my post I said that notepad is HTML editor???????
I said " I use only notepad " - yeah "only" , means that I don't use HTML editor, and means that I wanna know what others use.

Switched from frontpage to dreamweaver 2 years back and it was like heaven. Templates in dreamweaver save so much time.

using dreamweaver for quite some time now, and more than satisfied with it. all the others have some features, which are really excellent, but the problem is that none of them are complete package.

I use notepad for tiny alterations and Crimson Editor to create sites. It combines some of the features of HTML editor's with the simplicity and low RAM usage of notepad. Simple.

I use mainly Dreamweaver CS3. I think once you learn it you can pretty much do anything with your site.

Notepad++ and sometimes Dreamweaver if am doing much syncing to a server.

Sadly Dreamweaver lacks any tag highlighting which makes messy code a nightmare to work with.

I use Ubuntu on my laptop, and mostly Debian on the server side. For code editing, I really like gedit due to its syntax highlighting and visual structure capabilities. I hand-code 99% of my stuff, so others might not find gedit that useful. Sure beats Notepad, though ;).
