    Nope, that doesn't make it free, that makes it Anarchist! With all the respect but in my country, everyday a wave of Somalians and other from similar countries hit our shores for refuge. Their lawless country is what's making them miserable in the first place.

    I'd vote for Netherlands too. US may have freedom of speech but you still get busted for having pot (Which in fact kills less people, and is less addictive) then their legalized counterparts, Cigarettes.

    you can't choose the netherlands just because pot is legal there. they're a lot more lax than the US in terms of social laws, BUT the citizens are required to pay a ton of their income (around 50%) in taxes to fund their many government programs. THAT is not freedom. The most free country would need to allow individual success as well as social freedoms - America comes close, but the increasing government supervision is awfully frightening.

    Since you had not stated about the free term, I would like to take it as a general term. For me, as far as secularism is concerned it should be India. perhaps New Zealand is also free considering it is very safe.
