Which is the better server?

    Please let me know what server you prefer between the two, they are same price:


    SERVER ONE is VPS:

    6GB RAM guaranteed up to 12GB RAM
    3 cores guaranteed (1.5Ghz per core guaranteed)
    Parent server is Intel Xeon X5670 @ 2.93Ghz


    SERVER TWO is dedicated    :

    8GB DDR3 RAM
    4 cores
    Parent server is Intel Core i7-920 @ 2.67Ghz

    I would go for dedicated server. I love to have total control on the server. In VPS you have total control but only over your instance. You know what you have in the server and optimize it according to your needs. You can plan your own downtime if needed.

    Dedicated one! VPS can create a dedicated environment, but it is still on a shared server. That mean another user can impact the performance of the whole server.

    Go with dedicated. VPS is best only for small sizes < 1gb RAM.
