Which is the better server between these 2: PRIVATE/SMALL COMAPNY HOSTING: Dedicated Server 2.4GHZ Intel P4 CPU, CentOS or Red Hat Fedora 7 1000GB Bandwidth, 80GB Hard disk, 1GB Ram LXAdmin control panel Total: $60 per month GODADDY HOSTING: Dedicated Server Celeron 2.0GHz CentOS or Red Hat Fedora 7 500GB Bandwidth Single 120 GB Drive 1GB RAM Simple Control Panel Total: $80 per month
GODADDY should have p4 too. Also google for coupons and negotiate with sales agent. I got p4 3GHZ 1GB RAM 120GB for only 61.50/month
I've heard from trusted sources that Godddy is your worst option when it comes to hosting, whether dedicated or shared. I have only tried free and paid shared hosting at GD and I must say what a pain!
When saying about the hardware, of course, P4 2.4GHz is better than Celeron 2.0GHz. I am not sure what you want to compare here?
bandwidth is not everything, If you don't have the backend specs to handle the bandwidth then your a lost cause. layered tech - A+
I'm pretty sure that the 500GB bandwidth quoted by GoDaddy is really total bytes transfered in a month, and not what it can handle. A P4 will always be better than a celery. (But not as much here as it would be on a desktop.) Tou need to ask: is the dedicated server dedicated to you, or to you and 19 others? Does the company not allow spammers? Either way, the first choice is still better though, as GoDaddy's hosting totally bites.
Godaddy is used by a HUGE amount of people, yet its managed by such a small group. The support is useless, its all automated responses Godaddy are top notch for domains, but anything else. Pfft.
i second the person above. Godaddy and 1and1 got so many complaint. Try call 1and1 and ask them about uptime, they can't answer it! lol..this happen to techie-buzz owner. I would recommend you to go to www.webhostingtalk.com and ask people there. You might come accross a few promotion/coupon that you can't find anywhere else there.
I agree with that. You cannot utilize a 100 mbps line(not even 25% - I didn't tried, so I can't sya the exact stats) completely. Your CPU/Memory will start peeping out before the bandwidth does.
