Most of those companies you listed oversell like crazy. Host gator sells unlimited space, but if you use more than 1 GB they usually kick you off. I know becuase I ran several sites with them after they booted me I opened my own hosting company. Blue Host is just as bad, i've never thried 1 & 1 though. ( Since I own a hosting company, I no longer buy hosting from anyone anyway LOL )

One of my clients actually told me about HostGator kicking him off for using more than 2gb of space. Quite sad and humorous really.

Well I personally think that people who use hostgator will eventually learn and move on to a "real" hosting company. I have several clients who pay less with me than they did with hostgator and store several GB worth of data ( The biggest one being 12 GB of data, host gator kicked him off and I transferred him for free, that was a job... )

My client was actually unable to retrieve his files from hostgator surprisingly. I could imagine how long it would take to transfer 12GB of data and make sure everything got transfered correctly. But you know what I would have also taken the time and transfered the files. I wonder if hostgator would have done it ;) This is what makes us better than them. We actually care about our clients.

Companies that care are much better than any other company out there. It took around 5 hours to transfer... Thank god for wget, I had to cap the speed on it so that my other customers weren't affected with slow page loads... Of course I later upgraded the netowrk speed on the server so now it would take like 1 hour.

    none of them.

micfo.com is my favorite......have been using them for a long time now......never had any major problems......for minor issues, the support has always sorted out things fast.

These hosting companies are popular because of their affiliate programs. They pay about half of the money they recieve from their clients for advertising and to pay affiliater.

Thats why we see a lot of review sites telling you that these are the only good hosting companies.

I think hostgator has the best service than other ones. I can talk to their tech support even at mid-night and they will slove most issues in a few minutes. I didn't see any other hosting company that provide real 24x7 online support.

the one that I suggested does.

in fact, micfo has been providing 24x7 online support even before hostgator started to do so.

    none of them

the word "best" can only be associated with an opinion - and it differs from one person to another.

None of them, aplus.net are surely the best in these choice.

But the connection (slow) and price from dedicated servers are quite high

glad to hear startlogic has been doing better. I had issues with them years ago and moved my sites. I will keep an eye on reviews and consider them in the future again.
