All the ways are good in their area wise. It depends what you have to offer and the target of your product or website. Then you can decide from different ways too choose one the best.

 

You can also take a diffrent approach, try many marketing strategies and choose the one wich is working for you best.

 

It definitely depends on your target market, but for the most part viral marketing seems to be the most effective.

 

Well, if you have the patience and expertise in a related subject matter then I would suggest posting in forums. However, this does not mean that you spam and provide self promotion.

Join forums that are related to the content of your website you wish to promote. Then honestly offer your expertise on subject matter that others wish to be answered. So, take that seriously and build credibility out there for your expertise. This does not mean that you make up stories, but if its material that you really know then provide your share of feedback.

Many websites allow you to use your own website while others require that you establish your self as a blogger before you do that according to their own specific credentials. Anyhow, you should be able to call yourself an expert on your own field before you can really promote a website that reflects on an expected expertise.

I completely agree with Greg here. You should try and see what works out best for you. For some people, a link from a high traffic website will work, and for others, a big adwords campaign might work out. You have to see what is more favorable for your business.

 

I don`t agree with your opinion, because to try all of marketing strategies can take a lot of time. Time is money as you know.
