Blog comments and shit are a complete waste of time... Links seem to count more when they're in a related page and in an actual quality post... besides that - Google don't give a lot of credit anymore for shit links or links in General. Stop thinking about boosting your sites link count and worth - with these methods - as they are considered taboo with Google.

 

My friend, I know alot of people will slate me for this but truly if you can find someone trust worthy then the best way (when you consider time and effort) is to pay a reputable service for them...

But if you are doing it your self then

try:

Blog commenting (dont spam give good comments that stick longer)

article marketing (write articles that link to your site with keyword anchor text)

guest blogging on busy sites,,, this is a good one for traffic to...

You want do follow backlinks mainly... you can tell if a site is do follow by downloading seo firefox (it highlights no follow links on the site)

also the higher the page rank of the site you get a backlink from the better and faster your site will rank in the search engines...

Another quick little tip to get some backlinks is to go to site evaluation sites and blitz as many as you can by entering your url i the evaluation bar... the links do get indexed...

For me, i will find link building websites with advertiser and publisher network and invest 50$ and buy 20 high PR backlinks and get decent amount of search from google.

 

I have to say from my experience the best linkbuilding is article marketing, simply because articles proide backlinks and also using good article directories such as ezine articles they also give you direct traffic. In other words lets say your keyword was " blank" and that keyword was anywhere from easy to medium difficulty as far competition goes. You could write an article on ezines targeting that keyword and more than likely get on page one of google. Now when people see your article they can clickthrough to your site and google sees this as a relevant backlink from a high page rank site. Its also good to make web 2.0 sites linking to your domain and use article marketing to boost their authority.
