Hi, I am looking for a good software to edit php files on server from my localhost. I think dreamweaver is popular choice but would like to know what DP members think. Any other alternative of Dreamweaver ?

    Cheers

Around my office I see quite a variety of editors. I use "vi" and so do most of the people who sit near me, most of the guys who work on css and js files use DreamWeaver (They also edit PHP files) and most of the rest use JEdit. A couple use Eclipse. One guy asked if we had "pico" but he was told to go and learn how to use "vi" :p Nobody has yet dared to ask about Emacs.

When I'm on a Mac I use BBEdit or just ssh to the server and use "vi" there.

For linux remote servers, nano works perfect.
For Windows based PC, editplus should be perfect.
Heard bbedit is good for macs too.
