    Hello.

    I have been participating in contests on DP. Among the entries, I came across a person's entry with awesome 3D finish. So please tell me which software should I use to create such 3D logos? I have been looking over the net but am confused. Your suggestion would be of great help.

    The sickest solution for 3d I could think of would be CINEMA 4D but mind you it's not such an easy to use program... Still, if you keep at it you can do mind blowing stuff. It's a monster... Here's another great solution for Photoshop layerstyles that can enable you do do something big in a flash, and they're all totally FREE (legal download)... Huge site I've got some wicked stuff from there

    Thanks for the suggestion bro. I got the layer styles from the link you provided. They are really great. Just another doubt, does cinema 4D need a lot of RAM? It seems to be an animation software like 3D maya and 3DS Max!!

    They're nice, aren't they! You're welcome. Yes mate that's true about cinema 4D... You can use it for some KILLER 3D logo stuff easily tho! And as long as you don't go on and render away some HUGE movie clips you should be good to go with mediocre to standard RAM. In the end you don't render any motions but just ONE logo.... I know people that create mind blowing 3d logos and stuff with it at their home PCs... Anyway, I've learned the program some years back in school but am mor of a photoshop man myself nowadays...

    agreed to FastCashMoney .. Photoshop and illustrator can be the best software to create 3D stuff (icons , images or logos) if u know the basics or u can learn from thousands of Vid Tutorials online .

    You can do 3D logo's in Photoshop CS5. I basically haven't tried their 3D that comes in their extension. I still make 3D logos manually by duplicating layers and adding effects.

    Guys, I am pretty familiar with Photoshop. However, I am learning illustrator and their features day by day....it would be great if you could suggest some good tutorials too.

    If we are talking about logos, then it has to be done with Illustrator. As for the 3D part, I have seen some really amazing rendering done with 3Dmax. But I believe, Illustrator is still one of the best tools for doing 3D logos.
