Excellent, are there any aussie modules available freely?
    *********
Might be easier if I post my list of questions rather than replying every thread:

    1. How well does it take care of product variation ?
    2. How easy did you find it to integrate to aust post for shipping
    3. what gateway have you got setup?
    4. How do you do your marketing & email campaign out of Prestashop..is there a module and do I have to pay extra to buy it?
    5. SEO - what extra work is required here and is it easy to setup & user for a beginner?
    6. Do you have a link(s) to your site done in Prestasop?
    7. Did do your own coding and are there any good templates to use(free)?

I look forward to your response.

Virtuemart stinks! (bugs and loads of time wastage)

Use jStore Pro/Plus or Magento as you see fit.

if this thread was written 2 years ago, i would say zencart.
but nowdays, i am little worried with the update circle.

even though their community is extremely friendly and helpful (At least with me) seems they are little busy with their new version which never comes.

some features i would check first before i choose are:
    modules for my bank
ability for multiple shops (will save you much of time and trouble if you grow in future and you will add different type of products)
and the most important of all: a support for PA-DSS if you are going to store the credit card info.

    I haven't seen CS-Cart on here yet.

I've been using CS-Cart for almost 3 years and have been very happy. I sell aquariums and supplies and the cart does great for me. CS-Cart has recently done a major overhaul on their cart and it is great.

I think there is something like 40 different skins to use right out of the box. If you want to do a custom skin it is pretty simple. I did my own.

CS-Cart has a ton of features not found in other carts. There is also a very active forum if you need help along the way.

I would definitely recommend CS-Cart to anyone wanting to start an e-commerce store.

Magento is complicated to customize efficiently with a normal budget. You can go with Oscommerce based shopping cart, such as ZenCart, CRE Loaded.

Drupal + Ubercart is the way to go. The flexibility you have is really great - and it does not take much time to get sites turned up quickly.

Plenty of great modules available too.

I have heard nothing but good things about Interspire if you want to give their cart systems a try. They seem to have a lot of different options for carts.

I've used oscommerce with sts and couple of other plugins such as Ultimate SEO and cre loaded. For the life of me I don't know why Cre made it so hare when it came to templating, not so sure about its latest offering though. For me it is Oscommerce and STS.
