which is the best SEO CMS?

As the title says, I want to use the best SEO and easiest to use CMS,

I have used e107 for a long time but it is not the best SEO or SEF system out there.

Can you please suggest another?

But id say Joomla or Drupal. They constantly rank highly on a list of CMS candidates with several SEO options available.

 

Joomla is a little too complex for what I want I might try Drupal or wordpress.

I Use CMS Made Simple with modified .htaccess and is doing fine for me.

 

I am not a Drupal fan (as its not very easy to learn, has messy modules etc.), but it is a clear winner when considering SEO. The version 4.7 has now built in "path" feature that enables you to manualy create nice URL for a certain page. You can optimize the sites you want like this.

All other scripts like Joomla, XOOPS etc. are far behind.

I have been an avid e107 user for a long time but it just does not cut it for SEO and what I need to do.

I basically need
- Reviews section
- Blog section
- News section

I will have a look at drupal again but my impression was the same as yours, i just didnt like its feel as a developer

 

Ya i must confess, while ive had experience with Joomla, Ive only ever glanced at drupal. It looked complicated to me, and im not 100% on its admin backend, where as the Joomla backend is the best in the business when it comes to free CMS products.

Given that SEO is so important these days however, then Drupal being best of breed in SEO is a serious feather in its cap.

I might have too look at it again for a project or two down the road.

 

I just had a look at it. I installed word press, and didint lik the rating/review features and didnt really feel like re-nventing the wheel on that one.

So looked at drupal. I just dont like the way it works and coming from e107 it just seems old school in its approach so scrapped it.

I am having another look at Joomla at the moment and going to see if it will suit my needs. It is worth my time looking at it and learnign how to code for it as it will expand my CV from just e107 and PHP.

If it works I will stick with it and just put all the SEO and SEF patches on top.

Otherwise I will just fall back on e107 and write a custom module with SEO

 

Simplest and Best SEO CMS is postnuke.
I did hell lot of changes in it's headers. Then mod rewrite is awsome in postnuke. AS compare to joomla or drupal it is very very simple to use.
But you need to search it's modules. But i can assure you about it.

I agree Drupal is best SEO and once you play around with it, it's not that hard to understand.

It also has lots of really cool modules and a excellent free support forum.

 

I use Drupal for two of my sites and it's doing ok SEO-wise. You really need to get used to using it.

I almost gave up several times just because I couldn't accomplish some stuff with it, but it's still around.

postnuke is definitely not the best SEO CMS. I'd stay away from all the nukes and their various clones altogether.

 

YES DRUPAL seems good choice.

 

Joomla is great and has much more addons and features. drupal and wordpress are easy to use.

Joomla out of the box might not be the best, but if you install components like OpenSEF or 404SEF, then you have a lot more control over the URLs.

I use OpenSEF and I like the ability to rename URLs with relevant keywords and such.

 

Drupal is my fav, the code is clean and there are many modules you can add for SEO purpose. I helped a friend set up a cosmetic blog using drupal at cosmetic-makeovers.bestofhk.com

 

To answer the actual question - Drupal is the best SEO CMS. I've had a Drupal website that had had google listings (traffic coming in via search queries, some of which was not een targetted) in a matter of 2 weeks which is a record. Google seems to love Drupal - I noticed another article in this forum section which pointed to the users experiences with drupal which again emphasised how well the sites ranked with google, yahoo and msn.

Other CMS may be good in ease and functionality but so far Drupal has given me the best SEO results.

Other CMS I have used/using are Mambo, Joomla & Wordpress.

 

Joomla is SEO Optimized, however the urls are still fairly ineffective, you don't get any keywords in the url at all.
