Which is the best programming language to get start?

Which is the best programming language to get start? Some one tells it C and someone tells else other..

 

For websites or desktop software? For desktop I would say Java and for websites I would say PHP, but you can't go wrong with any Object Oriented Language,

 

For desktop, now I'm learning C++. It's in my subject. Is it worth enough?

 

It depends on your aim and why you learn programming.

IMO, if you are learning c++ now I think its a good Idea, and you'll learn alot of programming concepts that will make it easy for you to learn othre languages

 

I would never say C, too advanced for a first programming language with all the pointers and stuff. It is however good for indepth understand.

Best to start out with IMO is Java or PHP.
Again as someone posted above, depends on what you want to program for.

 

C++ or C is pretty hard to learn if compare to other such as ruby, python.
if u doing desktop with GUI, C++, C, java is pretty good choice, if u run programming in command line interface then ruby, python is much more easy to learn compare to c++, c or java.

 

rijans say desktop already, so PHP wont be a good choice, PHP primarily for web not for desktop

 

After you've learned C++, learn java. C++ is usually very portable, requiring no runtimes (unlike java), but java is very very marketable.

 

The one that you will never quit learning... that's most imortant

 

I am a student and currently I am learning Java. Hope that it would help me later on in website creation.

 

Java or C is a good place to start learning programming.

you can start with basic language. it ll be easy for you. if you want to start woth web programming then you can start with HTML. it is very easy language. once you have hold on these language then you can learn java and C++ and in web more advance XML and PHP. for PHP tutorial you can visit nerdtreasure

 

PHP is easy enough for starters, but keep an eye on security issues.

 

depends on what u wana do, if ur looking to make software i would go with C/C++, VB, C#, or Python, if your looking to do web stuff i would recommend PHP, HTML, CSS etc

 

This is for "first" programming language, guys. I'd say HTML.

 

Java hands down.

 

I'd go with java for sure. I am biased because I've been doing it for 12 years now but the reason why is the tooling (ie Eclipse) helps you learn and it tells you whats wrong on the fly. Not to mention all the 3rd party and open source libraries and tutorials which are available.
