I’ve been asked a lot of times which is the best PHP framework. Well, it’s a very difficult question to answer this question and there are some pros and corns in each framework. So, today I would to hear your views via poll. Please let everybody know which is the best PHP framework among
    CakePHP,
    Symfony,
    Zend Framework,
    CodeIgniter and
Seagull. So that, it will be easier for the PHP developer to choose right framework for the next project. And please post the comment, if you’ve something more to say

I don't think there is a correct answer to this.

If you are looking to land a PHP related job, go for Zend. I don't think it's the best by any means, but is the most popular in the business world. If the people writing the checks care about it, then you should as well.

If you are looking to develop on your own, I would go for symfony or codeignitor. They are easier to use, more efficient, better supported, and just a better match for most individual programmers needs.

Seriously, I hate these questions....don't people actually get out of that age where they stop asking "What's the best XYZ?".

Haven't we all learned, no matter what subject, if its best OS, best tool, best website, best PC, best programming language, best forum, best video game...They ALL have their advantage and disadvantages.

There is simply no such thing as "the best".

Ask people to list their Pro and Contras and then you can make up your own mind on what suits you.

I personally worked with Zend Framework, simply cause it's very powerful and it works great with Zend Studio.

Afterall, Zend are the guys who keep PHP up to date!

Personally i stay away from Frameworks.. But if i have to choose i would work with Zend for the obvious reason stated by K.Meier: "Zend develops PHP".

Most people i work with have their own Frameworks/Classes though.. As a friend said: "Why use someone else classes when you can make your own."
