    All of it working together. Starting off with just one I would pick facebook for sure. Just huge amounts of traffic sitting on facebook all day.

    There isn`t a one "good for all situations" method of marketing. It really depends on the niche you have. You can`t use sms marketing if you are from USA and your clients are from Europe for example (or even face to face, that would be even harder if you can`t teleport :D ).
    Different marketing methods work for different situations, but one thing is constant: It doesn`t matter which niche you have, you will have to use a combination of more than one marketing method.

    It really depends on what you mean by best. The best kind of marketing in terms of getting customers will definitely be face-to-face. But it is time-consuming and expensive.

    IMO, there are merits to each kind of marketing. It should be up to each marketer to figure out which works best for them.

    here I want to let you know that broadly,you are talking about 2 marketing strategies.
    1- Traditional Marketing (face to face marketing, SMS marketing)
    2- Digital Marketing (Email, Social Media, Online Advertising)
    Basically, now is the time when user are more adhere to online platform. So, digital marketing affects more to human resulting to be more productive as compared to traditional marketing.
    But its not like Traditional marketing is not having importance. It is as important as other marketing strategies.

    You haven't really given sufficient information to really be able to answer your question because what we're marketing is critical to the how.

    For the sake of argument, let's just say it's a startup product that doesn't have oodles of money. Instead of answering which method is best (because let's be honest, they're all great if you can afford to do them), I'd layout how I would approach the marketing plan to cover as many people as possible and build the budget to get involved in all of them.

    1. Social marketing
      1. Social marketing can start with little or no investment. Simply "sweat equity".
    2. Search Engine Optimization
      1. Your social marketing will result in some interest about the product so investing in optimization ensures you will reach those people
    3. Email marketing / SMS marketing
      1. Now that you've got people engaging in your site and making purchases, build your list!
    4. Advertising
      1. Will the money you've generated from the earlier channels, you can start investing in advertising to drive returns.
    5. Face to Face
      1. As travel costs are high and sales can be less direct to track, I leave this to the end so you can establish yourself via less expensive channels while ensuring you've got the best product for success. If you get to this stage, you can pretty much go anywhere and close deals
    From there you can scale by investing more in each of the channels to grow your sales.
