    In the past iv had Acer 17", HP 15", Sony 13", and now im looking into Dell XPS. I dont know Acer was reliable and inexpensive, HP was similar to Acer, Sony was expensive and reliable but i was paying for the size at the time, as for dell will see. I would go with Acer or HP for now from personal experience.

    last night my roomate purchased a laptop of DELL at the price of 85000Rs.
    its cool and bright. and have cam of 2mg, with 500gb HD, 5GB ram, 1GB 3dcard.
    and we all are enjoying with this.
    i think its good and cool and have nice acceries

    Eh em where's Toshiba on the list??? I have a Toshiba laptop that is still alive after 10 years and still is kicking :D

    Also if you're looking for a good laptop, cheapest would be during Black Friday (day after thanksgiving) when many stores (or cyber Monday i guess for those of you who don't live in the US) start clearing out stuff at incredible cheap prices. I got both my laptops during Black Friday.

    Some brands I recommend steering clear of is HP / Compaq (same company). HP knows about the problem and still is producing the problem from what I last heard. There is a motherboard defect on all HP laptops that have nvidia chipsets at which the laptop would overheat / shutdown or in some cases burn up to the point where you won't be able to use it again. They have REFUSED to recall the laptops even though they know of this problem and they will not fix them for you as they will charge you $399 to fix. After this that made me never want to buy an HP product again!

    Oh and a highly recommended suggestion is to stay away from ANY laptop that has a Segate hard drive as they have been recalled / crashing lately.
