wordtracker.com is good but it is limited for used. As compared to Keyword Tool External , you have full access and it is offer for free.

I use these: Free Keyword Tools.

A comparison between Amazon, Google, Yahoo, and others can be useful, especially when you're trying to sell something.

Yes, I too agree with sabreenahawk, as in big G is the one stop shop for a webmaster's tools. That's the best and free tool in my personal experience.

I've used a few checking tools and for your purposes, I'd say DP's tool is as good as any. I'd stick with it. As for backlinks not changing, first off, Google's link: command is worthless, but also, I don't think there've been many backlink updates in the last 6 months. There might have been one or two, I don't really remember. In any case, even if you did see a change, it really wouldn't help you much, since the link: command is so useless.

I've tested both wordtracker.com and google's keyword tool, and I think google is a little better.

I agree with you. I used google keyword tracker tool for my search terms for TonerBoss Company to set up for our Google Adwords PPC Management account which I personally manage.
