The problem with most things that are free, is that you get what you pay for. I have used Grammarly.com and PlagiarismChecker.com and am satisfied with both.

Google a few sentences that have a little unusual phrasing. If it's copied from something online, you'll usually find it that way.

Of course if the original is not online, online as an image, or not yet indexed, there's no tool that will find it.

I would forget the free tools and use Copyscape as it is the most widely recognized and has a good reputation. I really don't think this site costs much to use, though. It's 5 cents per search which is pennies!

I'm seeing more and more of that nonsense. Just another way for people to steal I guess.

That looks like a great tool for folks but the best way to ensure your content isn't plagiarized is to write it yourself or hire a reputable writer.

I agree with KatherineO that Copyscape Premium is the best tool for checking plagiarized content and it costs also very less.

I think YMC has a great point when she says "Of course if the original is not online, online as an image, or not yet indexed, there's no tool that will find it. ". But if the original is not online yet and we put our copied article online first, then will our article be considered original?

For SEO purposes, the first indexed is often seen as the original.

For copyright purposes, the first published IS the original.

For content I have found Copyscape to be a great tool. To see if your images are being used anywhere else I've used both Tineye and Google reverse image search with success.

I'm using PlagTracker to check the content I get to post in the future or just some new articles that I'm getting from authors and I use PlagSpotter as an alternative to Copyscape to find out if someone is stealing content from my sites.

CopyScape is the only 100% reliable tool I would ever use to check if my content has been duplicated. The most reliable and most trusted by all members of the writing community and across the world. You can't go wrong with it.

There are a lot of checkers online, which are quite good for a quick check, but they are not very reliable sometimes, and you have to check once or twice before you are sure it gave the proper percentage. Better to have sever different programs installed on your computer. They search deeper.

Try to ignore free tools to check plagiarism.

If you'll use this one : http://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker/ or other you'll never find exact result from there i have tried that too much time but from them some of % will find plagiarism.

Only use this one : http://www.copyscape.com/

you'll never get wrong result from that. its not a costly as person think.

About quality matter you can try this one: http://www.grammarly.com/ . Grammarly is an automated proofreader and your personal grammar coach.
