    whats the disadvantages of free forum softwares..
    i have seen too much negative reviews of vb version 5

    For paid vbulletin and Xenforo are good, for free phpbb and mybb.
    The only problem with free forum software would be lack of professional support.

    I am using both vBulletin and Mybb and i think both have their own pros and cons.

    It all depends what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend. vBulletin and XenForo are great choices for a forum. MyBB is a free alternative, and has a range of plug-ins and themes to make it feel very professional and premium.

    I've said it here before but moot.it is certainly worth checking out... Great ui and works on mobile.
