Hi, I am confused over what default font should I use for my blog? So please give your feedback for the best font to be used in a blog or a website. Also what should be the minimun and optimum font size for content in a blog? Actually I imported my blogger blog to http://www.environmentabout.com blog and there are different fonts and font sizes in some of the posts because I used to blog from Windows live writer also. Now at new wordpress blog when I open different posts, they are differently formatted. I want to change the font of all the posts at once. So please help me choosing optimum font and font size.
As a rule of thumb, you want to use a non-serif font like Verdana on screen media and serif on printed materials. However, you can use either one if you set the font size to larger than average to ease accessibility. As a default, I go for Verdana simply because it's widespread and constant across multiple platforms. You can fall-back on Arial or some other non-serif.
It is really based on your sense of style. As long as you call for a face that is installed on user's machines and you are using it large enough any of the default faces will be fine. Personally I prefer san-serif but that is just me opinion.
13px Verdana,Arial,Tahoma,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif. If you use the Firebug plugin on Firefox it is eay to view info like this.
One thing abot Verdana is that it looks good on screen at small sizes-better than Arial and Helvetica which is really not a great font to use on the web but it rocks in print.
