Which is the best & effective Google Ad Units in "AdSense for Content"?

What is considered the best & most effective Google Ad changes depending on what you are willing to do.

The large rectangle is often put into content with the content wrapping around it. This means that it is often clicked more. Also this is more the best position rather than your question the best ad unit.

When I wanted guidance on a question like this I emailed the AdSense helpdesk. They seem to recommend the 160 x 600 Wide Skyscraper as it is more popular with the advertisers, so there is more demand for it. The 160 x 600 Wide Skyscraper also tends to catch the eye more due to the larger size of it.

I guess if you want more of an answer you have to define best & effective Google Ad Units.
- Do you mean the best click through rate?
- Do you mean the highest click payout?
- Do you mean the closest targeting to your content?

 

My opinion 336x280

But if you search the forums, this question has been asked more then enough times

 

For all my sites, 336 x 280 Large Rectangle always work the best.

 

Mine is amazingly, the 468x80 one

Wheres 300 x 250? That unit performs better than the 336 x 280 because of more available image ads. Ever since the clickable area was reduced, images give me the best CTR.

 

According to google research, the large rectangle, rectangle and the wide sky scrapper are most effective ad units.

So generally its best to use those options, but depending on your niche, you might have a better CTR with a different unit.

 

It's very depends on your site structure.

You need your to be visible but also to be blended in your layout.
