I would go for magento. It's growing fast. I've been using for a while and I would recommend to anyone. It's a bit diffucut to learn to start but once you get around it's great
I think what everyone's saying is that there are MANY to choose from. Try out several of them and determine which works best for you (as the 'best' for one person may not be for you).
Hi I think you will have to wait b/c there will be a new one that is safe, easy to customize also with SEO all that... with hosting and domain or sub-domain option with very law cost so u don't have to use open source scripts its unsafe and without any warranties or guaranties its all up to you now.. all the best in you business ------------------------------- ( buying new online store like buying new car ) Qourat | Change your way in trade

I would have to say that Agoracart is one of the best. I have used it for many years. It is very easy to customize, and has lots of features, such as top 10 best sellers, Top product, and many more things.
I use x-cart, its light, fast, cheap, easy to learn and you get free lifetime upgrades.....I bought a copy 5 years ago and I get updates that add new features all the time!!! There is also a community that is willing to help with a number of issues that you have,

Hi, One of the top most and best e-commerce platform is Magento i suggest magento because of its security and flexible in designing
There are a few other steps every eCommerce site owner must take: * Choose and register a website domain name * Select a website hosting company * Design a website * Decide on a shopping cart provider * Set up a payment gateway * Arrange for credit card processing * Open a merchant account * Market, Market, Market!
I think it pretty much sums up the question... nothing works best for everyone. It all depends on your needs. On the contrary, the e-commerce system I've been using is not even mentioned by any of you guys in this thread: 'Delavo'... why? simply because it caters to my target niche market and thus it is suitable for me but not the rest.
i want to recommend to you my favorite, hope you are open for suggestions: http://www.shoppingcartelite.com
The best shopping cart software is going to depend on needs of your store. I suggest to look at the full feature list of each prospective shopping cart and compare them. Keep in mind some are open source (free) while others are paid. Some of the open source shopping carts (i.e. Magento) you have to pay if you want to upgrade to access specific features only offered on their Enterprise or higher edition and/or seek assistance from their Customer Service. You're essentially paying to have one of their partners build your store instead of hiring a freelance developer to build your site for you.
