I am shocked for few min. is it DP forum. u ppl are making him confuse everyone is saying two three words do search or topic has been discuss many times ... lol. If u can't suggest him why all the members are writing same reply again and again. @Tanzil Since two/three years i see ppl prefer Phplink directory. Its available in free and paid version. http://www.phplinkdirectory.com also many free theme and plugins are available for customization if u need any help drop me pm.
is PHPLD updated? i had a long time since i last checked the page and it's still in version 3, how good or bad is the support?
having used every script on the face of the earth i would go get a custom one made if your making a serious web site , or if money is an issue just get a custom theme for one of the cheap ones like phpld. i found that they all are different in one way and dont ever fit all your needs.
It might be a good idea to keep an eye on phpLynx as they are certain to make a comeback with features that I for one haven't seen before. Else other script are just as good depending on what you want to get out of things.
I hear many good things about phpld as a link directory, but how does it fare as a business directory? How does it compare to phpmydirectory?
I use LBS for now as it is free and easy. I will need to get professional help soon as the site is getting big and more "famous"
Trial and error will give you the best results.. you have to experiment and see what one you like best.
No one say about softbiz. But i think u can try on it. They have lot of script. Directory is one of them. You can visit that
will have my own new script coming out soon as i got so hacked off with the others out there. will need testers in the coming months just say yes in the thread and i will contact you asap
i also agree that paid phpld is what you need if you would like to run a directory. they already have everything you may need. just try the free version first if you want to try it out.
PhpLD is the least expensive option you have. You can say that there are free alternatives but none of the free alternatives will provide you the basics, and options as PhpLD. If you wish to get some of the features built-in with a bit more bells and whistles, eSyndicat could be an option. However, what I hear for eSyndicat has always been a mixed bag of reviews. Some people like it, some people hate it. With PhpLD, there is not much to compain about. You are not paying much, but get decent performance and tons of free templates, features etc.
